The short version: Klip collects no data. Period. No analytics, no tracking, no accounts, no network connections. Everything stays on your Mac.
Data Collection
Klip does not collect, transmit, or store any data outside your device. Your clipboard history is stored locally in ~/Library/Application Support/Klip/ and is only accessible by your macOS user account.
Network
Klip makes zero network connections. There is no server, no API, no telemetry endpoint. The app works entirely offline.
Credentials
When Klip detects sensitive data (API keys, tokens, passwords), it blocks storage by default. You can change this in Preferences > Security.
Third Parties
Klip uses no third-party SDKs, analytics tools, or advertising frameworks. Zero dependencies beyond macOS system frameworks.
File Permissions
The database is stored with owner-only permissions (600). The data directory uses 700 permissions.
